We all know how vital good relationships are to our wellbeing. But when were you taught the skills to create and nurture them?
Somehow we assume we will just know, and it takes a lot of mistakes and heartache to realise that we don’t "just know" how to manage relationships - any more than we “just know” how to drive a car or how to pass an exam. We need to learn.
This one-day workshop is designed to give you skills to be the best person you can be within your relationships. I can’t promise it will give you all the answers, but it will certainly start the journey.
I am the owner and founder of Quietude Counselling in Preston, Paignton. Over the last couple of years, I have specialised in couples counselling, and realised that, while each couple’s pain is unique, there are many common themes. I would like to distil the essence of those themes to give you the benefit of those many counselling hours in just one day.
The workshop will primarily look at romantic/partnership relationships, but the skills you learn will be useful in all your relationships, so please feel free to come along if you just want to know how to communicate better.
The day is focused on skills learning and discussion - we will not have time to look at individual couples issues, as this is not couples counselling, but it will give you skills to take back and practice in your relationship, and I encourage people to attend either solo or with partners. Everyone is welcome, in fact, regardless of age, gender, sexuality or relationship style.
I hope to reach those people who are unsure if they need couples counselling just now, want to give themselves the best possible chance of happiness, or who are not in a relationship just now, but want to build better relationships in the future.
The day will be enjoyable, interesting and interactive with all attendees being free to participate only as much as they are comfortable to do so.
So often when couples arrive in counselling, they are already at a critical point from which it can be hard to return. Don’t wait for that point to arrive - take action now and reap the rewards in all your relationships for now and the future.
